The performance properties of thermosetting polymer coatings commercially known as epoxy coatings, epoxy sealers and epoxy paint have become synonymous with high performance chemical and corrosion resistant coatings and industrial floor treatments. These epoxy coating systems were first commercially introduced over half a century ago and have since steadily continued to develop and progress far beyond what the original commercial applicators and formulators would have ever likely imagined.
The selection of applications for epoxy coating systems is substantial. They are recognised and commonly used in areas that require outstanding chemical and corrosion resistance, high mechanical load properties, performance under vigorous high volume traffic as well as being implemented for their decorative and aesthetic attributes.
Modern, more progressive industrial epoxy systems are commonly free of solvents and often classified as volatile organic compound free (VOC free). Further progression in pursuit of greener alternatives has introduced bio based alternatives as well as water based epoxy options. Alluvius, in line with our company mission, have developed 100% solids epoxy (VOC free), bio based epoxy and water based epoxy paint.
The Alluvius collection of epoxy coatings can be divided into two main categories: Solvent Free 100% Solids Epoxy & Water Based Epoxy which both have further subcategorising.

VOC Free 100% Solids Epoxy
Alluvius 100% solids epoxy are available as primers (epoxy sealers), mid coats (body coat) and top coats (wear coat) as well as crack injection, crack repair, grouts and anchor bolt adhesives and other various, less common applications.
100% Solids Epoxy Primers (Epoxy Sealers)
Moisture and osmotic blister resistant, alkaline environment stable, epoxy vapour barrier with rapid curing properties. With early hardness development, EP MVAP is a preferential primer for accelerated project completion and cold damp weather winter applications but also exhibits adequate working time for warm weather installation. EP MVAP demonstrates exceptional adhesion in moist, damp environments as well as highly alkaline substrates. EP MVAP is a progressive epoxy in terms of environmental makeup with a biomass content between 10% and 20%.
Oil contaminated surface primer with exceptional vapour barrier qualities (Class II vapour barrier). EP OSP is tolerant to surfaces previously contaminated with petroleum based products, exhibiting tenacious adhesion strength in the most difficult environments. EP OSP has between 20% and 30% biomass content and is considered one of the more “environmentally friendly” epoxy coatings available in the market place today.
100% Solids Epoxy Mid Coats (Body Coats)
EP 2020 Suitable as Mid Coat and Top Coat
Clear, high gloss, self smoothing epoxy with best in class UV tolerance (not UV stable) in our clear 100% solids epoxy coatings. EP 2020 presents good all round properties for epoxy roll coats, decorative epoxy applications and industrial floor coatings. EP 2020 is fortified with a UV light stabilising and absorbing package which greatly improves the UV tolerance of this epoxy coating making it most ideal for decorative flooring applications where longterm aesthetic performance is required. In many instances, EP 2020 may be used as a primer, body coat or top coat combination. EP 2020 is available in both medium and low viscosity formulations.
EP 016 Suitable as Mid Coat and Top Coat
Chemical and corrosion resistant self smoothing clear epoxy roll coat. EP 016 with its high cross link density shows improved resistance to hydrocarbons, corrosive agents and chemical exposed environments. EP 016 has a fast cure through speed with low tendency for blushing in cold environments.
EP 017 Suitable as Mid Coat and Top Coat
Chemical and corrosion resistant self smoothing coloured epoxy roll coat. EP 017 with its high cross linking density shows improved resistance to hydrocarbons, corrosive agents and harsh chemical exposed environments. EP 017 has a fast cure through speed with low tendency for blushing in cold environments.
EP SL1 Suitable as Mid Coat, Top Coat
Coloured, high gloss, self levelling epoxy with exceptional aesthetic properties accompanied with impressive mechanical attributes. EP SL1 has been fortified with a UV light stabilising and absorbing package greatly improving UV tolerance (not UV stable), has excellent impact and abrasion resistance of which is ideally suited for industrial floors in mechanic workshops, garages, commercial and industrial floors. EP SL1 is also a suitable finish coat for decorative domestic and retail floor finishes. EP SL1 can be custom coloured at select Alluvius point of sale locations.
EP SL2 Suitable as Mid Coat and Top Coat
Coloured, self levelling rapid curing epoxy with exceptional mechanical properties and chemical resistance. EP SL2 has excellent shock and impact resistance with rapid return to service time. EP SL2 has excellent solvent and acid resistance. EP SL2 should be used where long term colour stability is of little concern.
Water Based Epoxy & Epoxy Paint
WEP VP1 Suitable as Primer and Top Coat
Clear vapour permeable water based epoxy sealer. WEP VP1 can be used over green concrete to function as a cure and seal. Due to its vapour permeability properties, WEP VP1 is suitable for substrates in areas of high and increasing water tables without suitable water proofing barriers in place as the vapour permeability feature will reduce the risk of osmotic blistering and delamination by allowing the passage of negative side vapour though the coating.

Coloured vapour permeable water based epoxy sealer. WEP VP2 can be used over green concrete to function as a cure and seal. Due to its vapour permeability properties, WEP VP2 is suitable for substrates in areas of high and increasing water tables without suitable water proofing barriers in place as the vapour permeability feature will reduce the risk of osmotic blistering and delamination by allowing the passage of negative side vapour though the coating.
